So... suggestions?
I'm going to be on the road for at least 8 hours on Thursday. I have to go to Atlanta (or at least Georgia, I'm trying to figure this part out) to put in a deposit for the electricity so that we have air conditioning when we move in. Does anyone have any suggestions for free and legal entertaining radio shows or podcasts to download to my MP3 player?

Ha! Great question. Here's what I listen to (all from NPR):
Wait Wait
This American Life
Story of the Day - go ahead and subscribe and you'll get a few days' worth
Fresh Air - hopefully the Neil Patrick Harris one from 8/1 is still available! They've been interviewing The Office folk recently, too.
Pop Culture
Car Talk - I think they have old episodes free on their web site, too.
Hidden Kitchens
The Splendid Table
Food
Movies
Driveway Moments
There's Grammar Girl, too, but I dunno if that interests.
Happy travels!
Hey James. Katie's totally hot boyfriend here. Here are a few podcast suggestions:
-EscapePod - science fiction podcast of stories lasting 25-50 minutes
-Drabblecast - weird short stories, but they're good
-PseudoPod - horror short stories, sister podcast of EscapePod
- PodCastle - fantasy short stories, sister podcast of EscapePod
-Scott Sigler audiobooks - author who podcasts all his novels for free. They're usually horror/monster stories
-Sowerby and Luff - British pair of drunkards that make fun of a bunch of things and generally have lots of funny things to see
-Space Casey (by Christiana Ellis) - funny space opera about 10 episodes long
-That's What She Said - "The Office" fan podcast
-Stuff You Should Know - editor of "How Stuff Works" with short tidbits of info
-The Naked Scientist - British podcast call-in show of Jeopardy-like random knowledge
-The Film Talk - Nashvillian and Irish man discuss movies
-Max Quick - story about teenagers and aliens caught in a time bubble, good story
-Black Shadow - story about a batman-like dude, well-produced but not well-written
-For Keeps (by Mur Lafferty) - story of superheroes with lame powers save the world
-Heaven (by Mur Lafferty) - story of weird, secular afterlife, but it's good
-The Secret World Chronicle - superhero story of heroes that fight Nazi robots, sounds lame, but totally freakin' awesome!
I'd know more if I was at work, but hopefully that'll do ya.
James, you have a new cell number. To activate, dial *228, send, then select option 1. The dodos at Verizon changed your number before we could call and tell you the new one. :(
Hope you check your blog...
